From the recording Comin' Home
I wrote this song in Seattle, WA after seeing Bonnie Raitt perform at the Bumbershoot Festival. I was very ready at that time to return to Shepherdstown, WV and a more active performing life.
Lyrics
COMIN' HOME
You don’t know how long it’s been comin’ home to you.
I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home to you.
I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home to you.
I’ve always told myself, I need a little more pre-par-ation
I’ve always told myself, I just need a little bit more time.
But one thing I don’t need is any cap or gra-du-ation.
Back where I belong with you, I don’t need to stand in line.
You don’t know how long it’s been comin’ home to you.
I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home to you.
I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’ home to you.
